Letters of Hope is a 36-page first-person picture book. It explores quiet resistance to loss and grief through a young girl compiling letters for her missing friend.

The project was initially a response to the picture book workshop hosted by the National Human Rights Museum in Taiwan. During the workshop, we collaborated with other creators, researchers and White Terror victims to transform the history and personal memories into visual narratives. Informed by the atmosphere of the period in Taiwan, I aim to create a nostalgic and delicate mood through atmospheric illustrations.
